According to ancient Tantric scriptures, the 51 Shaktipeeths were formed when Sati, the first consort of Lord Shiva, self-immolated in an act of fierce devotion. When Shiva carried her body in deep grief across the cosmos, her body parts fell to Earth in 51 places, now known as the Shaktipeeths, each carrying a unique vibration, elemental force, and Tantric Shakti archetype.
